WHAT TO DO WHEN THE FUSE BLOWE

Do not try to replace a fuse in the dark.  Use a flashlight. On the side is some fuse boxes is a switch handle.
Pull this handle to the OFF position before you open the box or touch any fuses. If there's no handle, when you open the dooryou may fine one or two cartridge-fuse holders at the top of the box .Pull both the them out. This turn the current off. Don't worry if there's a small spark when you do this. If's easy to recognize a 'blown' plug-type fuse.Either the window in the fuse is blackened or the wire is parted.A blown fuse should be replaced with one of the same ampere size.If none of the plug fuses is blown and all are firmly screwed in their sockets, insert new cartridge fuse.It is usually difficult to spot a defective cartridge fuse by eye examination alone. Cartridge fuses snap into clampes. If you fine a blown plug-typefuse, remove it by turning counterclockwise. Insert a 25- watt bulb and put the current back on.If the light bulb shines dimly, there's an overload.Turn off the cerrent, disconnect an appliance or two to eliminate the overload and replace the fuse. But if the bulb shines brightly, there's a short circuit.
