- After checking fuse to be sure current is reaching lamp, test bulb.It may be loose, or-if blackened-burned out.Try a new lamp.If there is still no light,try a new starter buttom. Be sure replacement is of the same wattage and size as the one removed or called for by type of unit.
- Lamp prongs may be bent and making poor contact, On straight lamps, there may be corrected with needle-nose pliers. Sand any corroded spots.
- Shut off power, then check contacts in sockets.They too may be bent. If so, straighten with needle-nose pliers, Sand points to remove corrosion.
- If there is still no light, shut off power again. With nut removed, fixture is held only by wires.
- Place fixture on table and run temporary power line to iy, connecting to fixture wire.Tape jointe well or use solderless conncector.
- Remove solderless conncetors froe each group of wire to see if any connectors have pulled loose, If so,retwist wire and replace connectors.
- Final trouble point may be the ballast or transformer. Mark wire as to location with tags, them from the ballast and replace it with a new one, making sure make, type, and mounting poles for wire and identical with the onw removed. Then reassemble fixture and replace.
