PREPARING LAWN TOOLS FOR SPRING

1. The items you need are few-paintbrush, wire brush,linseed oil,  machine oil, steel wood, a metal file, a handful of rags.
2. First step for tool-scrape off all caked dirt. The wire brush takes the last of it away, leaves the metal bright.
3. If you prefer, use steel wood instead of the brush. this does as good job unless the metal is pitted by long wear and rust.
4. File cutting edges sharp now. Spring may come fast, giving you no time later for putting the lawn equipment in good shape.
5. Clean all wood handles  and parts thoroughly and, unless they are protected with a coat of paint, apply coating of linseed oil.
6. Spray cleaned metal surfaces with a good grade of penetrating oil, or, if you prefer to distinguish your tools by color, paint the matel.
