SIDEWALK REPAIRS
FILLING HAIRLINE CRACKS IN STUCCO
- Use a cold chisel to dig out all the loose cement; open the crack to about double its existing depth.Undercut the crack to provide a key or slot the new cement to hold.
- Wet the crack thoroughty with a brush or cloth,or use a hose. Fill crack, using a putty knife, and overlap each side about 1", smooting cement into the exising surface.
- If you stucco is colored, buy matching colored stucco, called sand-finish,and dab a wet sponge in the material. Dab the material over crack filler, applying in circular motion.
- This isthe way the repaired crack should look. In 3 or 4 days the sand-finish will dry-it fades as much as 70% and should nearly match the old stucco finish.
